Our Story:
854 Entertainment is a production company founded by Brittany Dassa and Olivia Gill. After graduating from USC’s acting program, we set out to create the kind of opportunities we wanted to see in the industry, building a space for bold storytelling and authentic collaboration. In 2022, we produced our first project, The Happiest Days of Our Lives, which premiered as an official selection at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival in 2023.
At 854, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, creative, and collaborative on-set environment where every voice is valued. We believe in the power of independent filmmaking and are driven to champion stories that take risks, challenge expectations, and leave a lasting impact.
More About The Happiest Days of Our Lives
We shot The Happiest Days of Our Lives over eight days in Los Angeles. The film explores toxic masculinity and grief through the story of Cameron, a young man who turns to addiction as a way to cope with the loss and unresolved pain in his life.
His avoidance of grief only deepens his trauma, suggesting that unaddressed pain does not disappear, but instead finds new ways to surface. The film examines how suppressed emotion can quietly shape behavior, relationships, and self-destruction.
The writer and director created the project as a love letter to his upbringing in Los Angeles, as well as an honest reflection on the state of mental health among many young men today.
As a first project, we are incredibly proud of this film. The experience of bringing it to life was deeply meaningful, and the collaboration on set was nothing short of special.
